Pros

- Central location for culture and nightlife, and getting to the airport.
- Creative architecture.
- Youthful energy ... it feels like a hip hotel.
- Lots of funky amenities like iPods and cappuccino machines.
- Outlandish design, like a lobby flooded with water.

Cons

- You may get tired of so much creativity after a while.
- Sleek apartments with lots of glass can be a challenge to decorate.
- Nothing particularly Mexican about the place.

Icon Vallarta is a three-tower project in the middle of the Hotel Zone, with 26 floors each and 336 units. It is developed by The Related Group, a large Florida-based firm. This is probably the closest thing in Vallarta to South Beach. The architecture is by Arquitectonica; everything else is by "Yoo by Starck", Phillippe Starck's ubiquitous design firm.
