Pros

- You are in the Punta de Mita península, but you are not part of the Punta Mita gated community.
- One of the most famous restaurants in Puerto Vallarta -- if not the most -- has a branch in Hotel des Artistes.
- You have the option of buying full or fractional ownership.
- You can stay in the hotel before deciding to buy, to experience what it would be like to live in it -- maybe even the specific unit that you are interested in.

Cons

- The prices that you need to pay to buy into this project are in some cases more expensive than what you can get inside the gates of Punta Mita, but without the signature golf, the exclusivity and the other high-end amenities.
- The Punta de Mita area is where the people who originally occupied the Punta Mita area (fishermen, etc.) were relocated to. So, although it may be changing, the actual homes in that area contrast in a very strong way with some of the new developments going up.
