Amara is a beachfront development on the eastern edge of the city near Puerto Juarez.

The property has the feel of all-inclusive resort with two beachfront pools and accompanying cabana bars. The two long buildings are set far behind the beach, which is quieter and more peaceful than anything in the hotel zone, though the sand is not as fine. Amara emphasizes it’s sporty side with a gym, tennis courts, hiking trails, fields and easy access to water sports – all of which helps compensate for it’s relative isolation with few restaurants or shops in walking distance.

Amara caters to both resident families and vacationers with seven different layouts. The showroom had bit of a shoebox feel, but even it had a view at ground level which should be encouraging.
