Profile

Lagoon Lofts is located on a small island stretching into the lagoon from Cancun's hotel zone. The development borders the Pok-Ta-Pok golf course. High-ceilinged American-style lofts -- best suited for professionals and full-time retirees -- are on offer. Upper floor condos have giant roof decks. The handful of basic condos that are available have lower ceilings, but are considerably cheaper than the lofts.

The two buildings that comprise Lagoon Lofts will feature an aluminum exoskeleton that provides shade and protects against hurricanes.

Pros

Relatively low-density development on the lagoon side may appeal to those looking for a quiet island away from the glitz of Cancun's hotel zone. The high-ceilinged lofts are full of light.

Cons

The lagoon side of the island may not appeal to beach bunnies. The kitchens are relatively small but functional. Some may not appreciate the metal exoskeleton. Low ceilings in the non-loft units.

General Comments

Two buildings. 62 total units. Mix of lofts and condos.
