Rustic, El Rey is located inland along the Cenotes Route, just 11km from Puerto Morelos and the Caribbean Sea. The area is pure jungle filled with chicle trees, exotic birds, insects and howler monkeys.

El Rey offers some of the biggest lots in the area, on which you can build the house of your choosing secluded by the flora and fauna. Water is supplied from wells drilled on the individual lots. The centerpiece of the development is a clubhouse set beside horse stables, a swimming pool and a large polo field that hosts several tournaments a year.

Since El Rey is on non-deedable "ejido" land, there are legal hoops to jump through -- so buyers should hire a Mexican lawyer and be prepared to wade through title ambiguity.

-Builders will have to dig their own well and there are strict covenants for construction.
